I. Statement of the Problem
A. Definition: Lgor has to hand in a 25 page paper. But he feels he can’t finish it. His friend George says he can help him to finish the paper. Lgor needs to pay 50 dollars. Finally, Lgor’s professor discovered the truth. But Lgor didn’t admit at first. The professor told him that plagiarism was serious cheating. Cheating would be told to the dean.
B. Analysis: Lgor is afraid that he can’t write a perfect paper. Meanwhile, he is too lazy, and he meets his friend George. They thought the professor couldn’t discover the truth.
II. Suggestion of possible solutions
A. Lgor can apologize to his professor.
B. Lgor can rewrite the paper.
C. Lgor can tell his professor the truth.
III. Evaluation of Possible Solutions
A. Lgor can apologize to his professor.
1. Advantages: Telling the truth is much better than tell the lie. And the professor may be give him a chance again. And doesn’t tell to the dean.
2. Disadvantages: The professor doesn’t accept his apology.
B. Lgor can rewrite the paper.
1. Advantages: He should realize his mistake and rewrite another paper by himself.
2. Disadvantages: He can’t catch up the deadline of the handing time.
C. Lgor can tell his professor the truth.
1. Advantages: Let the professor know the details. The professor need to get the truth. And give him some helps.
2. Disadvantages: George will get in trouble.
IV. Selection of a Solution
A. Choice: (B). Lgor can rewrite the paper.
B. Lgor made a mistake. He should try his best to correct his mistake. First, he needs to finish the paper by himself. Although his writing skills are not perfect, his professor can help him.
